Title:

Global Seamline Networks for Orthomosaics via Local Search

Location:

Archway 2 - 1:00 pm, Friday 03 August

Abstract:

An orthomosaic is a composite image made from aerial or satellite photographs. The process is much like putting together a jigsaw puzzle, except that you are allowed to cut your pieces (the images) to get the best result. This usually means finding cuts or seams between images which don't introduce visible artefacts. This talk will introduce a new method for finding these seams. By using an appropriate cost function we can avoid a global combinatorial problem, replacing it with a set of independent local search problems.
