Association mining is a well established data mining technique that takes a collection of sets of items and infers rules "if these items are present in a set then these other items probably are too". Association mining algorithms take it for granted that time is irrelevant to associations, so much so that available anonymised data sets have the original timestamps stripped out.
But is time irrelevant? How can we tell? And what does this have to do with the Death of Dinosaurs? Come along to find out.
